    These high speed electric blue bikes are a menace. People use them too irresponsibly. Another near miss today with someone flying the wrong direction up the Boylston St bike lane against a red light. The city should should not be supplying these things when they dangerous to pedestrians and so frequently used irresponsibly.

Our blue bikes team utilizes a number of mechanisms to ensure that blue bikes, both electric and non-electric, travel at safe speeds throughout the city of Boston. Mainly, the weight and certain internal mechanisms within the bikes themselves work to prevent the average rider from moving them at speeds faster than 25 mph. That being said, the speeds of these vehicles can theoretically be increased due to factors like momentum, and feedback like this is very valuable to our team in fixing these loopholes.

    Just saw and 18 wheeler drive through the bike lane on surface road?! This bike lane needs to be protected- either raised up to be sidewalk level or concrete barriers added in. Also we don’t need 3 lanes of car traffic. Make two lanes and one dedicated separate bike lane. This huge ass road goes right through Chinatown and leather district where tons of people are walking and biking- 3 lanes and huge trucks is way too much traffic for this neighborhood.
