160 170 N Washington St, Boston, Ma, 02114My wife and I experienced numerous bikers riding bikes over the lock walkway while we were walking to TD garden from Charlestown. We were almost hit and it was creating a hazardous environment for pedestrians. When biker was confronted, we were met with profanity. There are signs that say no bikes and the city spent over $100m on the bill russell bridge that has bike lanes in both directions. Requesting enforcement, larger signage.

Can you please tell me what cyclists are supposed to do when a car is parked in the bike lane? Are we supposed to merge into on coming traffic? Are we supposed to wait? We get yelled at for having a separate lane and then we get yelled at for riding in the regular lane when the bike lane is blocked. So what do we do?!

2609 Beacon St, Brighton, Ma, 02135Various potholes and broken pavement in the eastbound bike lane on Beacon Street near Boston College and the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. This is very unsafe for bicycle commuters since it forces bikers into the vehicular traffic lane.

CLOSED #101006357071Case Resolved. The bike lane here is safe, since vehicles turning through it must yield to the bicyclists moving through it, as if they were cars. That being said, bike lanes throughout Boston can absolutely be improved with the inclusion of protective barriers and separation from traffic lanes.
