520 Beacon St, Boston, Ma, 02215

Two years ago the city repaved Beacon Street in the Back Bay between Arlington Street and Mass Ave, however you omitted repaving the last block of Beacon Street in the Back Bay, the one that runs from Mass Ave to Charles Gate East. This block was in the worst condition of any block along Beacon Street. In the past two years the block has only gotten worse. All the manhole covers have sunken further as well as the asphalt patches installed after water and gas pipes were replaced over the years. This block has heavy truck travel, most of which turn off Mass Ave in order to head west. Three bus lines, BU, MIT and LMA, also turn off Mas Ave to pick up students living on the block. They literally bounce over these many depressions, especially the empty trucks, particularly open cargo trucks. In fact when they bounce they produce a vibration that can be felt in our buildings, which can occur as early as 6 A.M. Not the best way to be awakened in the morning. I must tell you also I have lived on this block for more than forty years so I know this block does not always get the same attention, e.g. snow plowing, as other Beacon Street blocks do. Thank you for your attention to this matter, Sincerely, Kevin Downey 520 Beacon Street, Apt 4 B kevindowney@comcast.net

  • Damaged Sign

Intersection Of Egremont Rd And Cummings Rd, Brighton, Ma

During the winter, the no parking/tow zone sign on Cummings Rd., the east/south corner at Egremont, was knocked down/removed, probably during plowing. Cars are parking there now, ina way that makes it hard for the trash truck to back into 36-40 Cummings for trash removal. We have missed a number of trash pickups as a result. Can a new sign be installed?

  • Snow Plowing/Salting

172 Foster St, Brighton, Ma, 02135

They have OVERLY salted this path for the small dusting of snow we got last night. And now it’s going to be there for days or worse washing off into the ground. This path is constantly over salted but this is a ridiculous amount of salt for a dusting of snow.

  • Snow Plowing/Salting

25 Charlemont St, Dorchester, Ma, 02122

The photo is of Charlemont St in Dorchester. The fact that the salt wasn’t spread correctly it’s more ridiculous that the city salted the roads in the first place. I was out at 0530 hours and the sidewalks were all completely dried as was the road this was a complete waste of taxpayers money. Perhaps the Department Head who ordered the salting should be fired.

Intersection Of Cambridge St And Lincoln St, Allston, Ma

On Cambridge Ave in Allston, starting at the intersection with Lincoln St and ending at the intersection at North Harvard St, on the side of the street going towards Cambridge. The bike lane is an absolute mess right now with spill over of gravel from the construction/rail yard. It has been muddy and annoying for months, but since big snow melt is has been very gravelly (this might also be from plowing) -- it is very very difficult to bike through this without losing balance, and is a road I, and many others, need to bike through daily. Main issue: the bike lane has become covered in gravel. It is dangerous to ride on with the fast traffic nearby.
