- Hello, My name is Brook and I am a resident of the city of Boston residing currently in Mattapan. A large group of freinds and I convene about four times a week at Roberts Playground in Dorchester next to the High School to play soccer in the evenings after work and I have noticed that the lights shut off at different times every night. As a resident and taxpayer I would like to ask on behalf of the group that I play with if we could arrange a set time with whoever maintains that field that the lights could shut off later at around 10 pm. For example last night the lights turned off at 8:30 p.m. the evening before the lights turned off at 9:20 p.m. and then back on at approx 9:40 p.m. We are typically not the only group of people using the field for sports at that time either, therefore, as a taxpayer/resident and after hearing oponions from other community members it would be beneficial for all to be able to use the fields until 10 p.m. I hope some form of communication can be made to resolve this issue, please feel free to email me at anytime with any information in order to reach the groundskeeper or explanation of what time the lights are supposed to stay on until since we all work we dont usually get to meet until about 7:30 - 8:00 pm which is why this has become an issue.
