Description
Clarification please, on what is acceptable by code in regards to the (thickness of plastic bags) that we the people consider appropriate to leave out "uncontained" for up to 12+ hours at a time on the street for rodents to shred through before they are picked up and when they are picked up lots of detritus spills out from the "thin kitchen type bags" that have been easily shredded through throughout the night by the ever growing rodent population. If we are serious about keeping the rats away then we need to be much more vigilant when it comes to educating our community as well as those that we entrust with enforcing the very codes that are written to protect the people of This Great City. (((Kitchen type trash bags are less than (read) less than 1 mil))) Kitchen type bags are not sufficient in helping to quell the rodent problem, it only encourages them to forage through them for food. Heavy duty black Construction type, 2ply bags are (1.5-3 mils thick). These are required by code.

Case Noted | At this time standard trash bags can be placed curbside for collection. There is no specification stating that trash bags placed curbside must be rodent proof. However will consider your suggestion to do so
