Description
The Mayor needs to take immediate action on the illegal moped activity throughout the city, especially in Back Bay. Riders flagrantly violate traffic laws, by driving on sidewalks, the wrong way on busy streets, etc. The mopeds do not have license plates and their riders typically don't wear helmets. We have had numerous close calls both on foot and in our car and I am sure that one will end with a fatality. (Police have told me that they can't do anything.) Are these delivery companies paying the city to let them operate illegally? Or does Boston no longer care about enforcing traffic laws? PLEASE DO NOT WAIT FOR SUCH AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN TO THEN RETROACTIVELY LEGISLATE. Enforce the current laws. As an example of waiting for an accident to happen to fix a known problem - please review what happened in Delaware that ended in significant loss of life and economic disruption. | Case (SR) Type: [ONS Coordinator Issues] Referred To: [ONS: B.
