    Noted | All public street trees in the City of Boston and Massachusetts are protected by state law (MGL CH 87). The BPRD Urban Forestry Division is unable to remove a live and healthy public shade tree for the reason requested. Public Works has recently completed a sidewalk make safe to address the potential tripping hazard. A separate case has been made to prune the tree.
