- My landlord forgot the code to my apartment door so he used a hammer to break into my apartment at 5am scaring the life out of me then blaming me for having to bust down the door because i was asleep and didn’t hear him knocking. That was six weeks ago and he refuses to fix the door or exterminate the rats. I told him i was going to call inspectional services and he laughed and said his buddy is the director good luck with that. I contacted Inspectional services anyway. They came out and cited him for the door as well a few other things including no carbon monoxide detectors and no smoke alarms. (Landlord is a Lieutenant on Boston Fire Dept.) Inspectional Services cited my landlord with emergency fix orders four weeks ago. He has not made any repairs. I contacted them twice this week since it’s been four weeks. They gave me the run around and i was transferred to a voicemail box and left a message. Within 30 minutes of the phone call my brother a captain on BFD received an email from my landlord saying he wanted to talk to him about me. My brother is by the book and didn’t appreciate being contacted via a city email for a personal matter. Since no one from Inspectional Services is holding him accountable and obviously tipping him off I want to know who i need to contact to file a complaint about inspectional services as well as my Boston City Employed landlord.
