- Description
- The trees lining Greenwich Park in the South End are dropping sap on the cars and sidewalks. The sap sticks to your shoes and is hard to wash off of the cars. Is this normal? Or are the trees distressed? | Is this a City owned tree situated on the sidewalk: [Yes]

Noted | The sap in question is actually honeydew excretion from aphids that are feeding on the leaves of the linden trees. The aphids are not detrimental to the health of the trees but they do unfortunately create the sticky substance as a result of feeding on the leaves of the linden trees. The urban forestry division does not spray insecticides on public street trees.
