- I live at 18 Winship St in Brighton. For a few years there has been increased rat activity in my back yard. The rats have dug holes through the ground under my fence, as well as chewed off portion of my wooden fence to get from 14 Winship to 18A Winship. From my back deck I saw over 20 rats running across my yard between the two properties abutting my yard in less than an hour. The rats seemed focused in the area in the back of 18A Winship where they keep their trash barrel’s. I have family and pets that are in the back yard everyday and I’m concerned over potential bites or health risks resulting from these rats using my back yard as a thru way to get to the adjoining properties.
