- Description
- 49 Harriet Street is unable to maintain property to mitigate ongoing rat issue. Dozens of rats seen on property with burrows and unsecured trash. Rats have eaten through trash barrels and are seen climbing foundation of home and on porch and running under porch, brush and machinery in yard. Rats are seen during the day and night and heard flighting, squeaking/squealing all night. Neighbors report not renewing apt. rental lease due to issue. Professional rat trap box was given to occupants of home many years ago but remains unused in the yard. Unable to park cars in neighboring driveway as rats have been climbing underneath and have been found under hood. Issue is getting worse by the day and we are unable to enjoy time outside of our homes affecting quality of life. We have spoken to occupants but requests to contain trash/replace trash barrels are ignored. Can the city provide new trash receptacles to assist with this issue? We've been told in the past the city cannot bait on private property.
