- A company called University Mail Services is monopolizing parking on Benton St, off of Tremont/Columbus. They are a contractor for Northeastern University. Their red and white commercial vans park there and in the morning the employees block the road, move a van out, and put their personal car in the spot. They will do this with 5 or 6 cars. This has been happening for years. I'm told the vans have a parking lot up the street at the Renaissance building but they would rather take up all the spots on Benton St for themselves. They typically leave 4 to 5 feet between the vans, so that nobody can fit a car in there, and they take up more of the street for themselves. This is the epitomy of selfish and it deprives locals of a fair and equitable opportunity to park in the area, not to mention quite annoying. This can't be legal can it? Help!! You can see the line of vans up the street in the photo, and the door on the left in the other pic is the mail company's mailroom.
