- Description
- Parking around the Boston Police Academy on Williams Ave has become a growing issue, with academy attendants now taking up residential spots in the area. Previously, they used public parking on Truman Highway, but that practice has changed. Despite the need for resident-only parking restrictions, Mayor Michelle Wu has not addressed the situation, and she's stopped issuing such restrictions. Resident-only parking restrictions would alleviate the problem. Many residents have voiced their concerns through 311 complaints, highlighting frustration with the lack of parking. All BPD recruits are supposed to live in the City. There's an MBTA bus spot directly in front of the Academy but it is underutilized. When reaching out to Mayor Wu's office, residents are directed to Hyde Park liaison Zoe Petty, but she has not been able to resolve the issue either. Is electing a new mayor the solution to the ongoing parking challenges in the area.
