- Description
- I am submitting a noise complaint regarding ongoing construction equipment at 30 Hancock Street. The boom lift being used on site has a constant backup alarm that has been sounding for hours on end without pause during the day. The alarm is extremely loud and clearly audible inside my home with the windows closed. My wife and I and many of our neighbors work from home and the noise is severely interrupting our ability to focus and have conversations with our clients and coworkers over virtual calls. The decibel level appears to exceed the 70 dBA daytime limit and is highly disruptive. The alarm is going off continuously. Please investigate whether the equipment is in compliance with Boston’s noise regulations, and whether quieter alternatives (such as white-noise or ambient-sensitive alarms, which are OSHA-approved) should be required.
