- There should be ample space for Emergency Services to access the Fire Hydrant. The Law in Massachusetts is 10’ all around for Firefighters to access the Hydrant. Putting a mountain of garbage in the street in front of the Fire Hydrant puts people’s lives at risk so some slumlord can save a few bucks on dumpster service.
