- Dear City of Boston, I’m writing once again to express serious concern about the ongoing speeding problem on Milton Ave (Dorchester). Last year, I contacted the city after a driver crashed into a home on our street. Unfortunately, the issue has continued, most recently, another vehicle crashed into a neighbor’s fence (also a school bus stop), causing property damage. It’s clear that speeding and reckless driving on this street pose an ongoing threat to both residents and their property. We are fortunate that no one has been seriously injured yet, but it feels like only a matter of time before that changes. I strongly urge the city to revisit potential safety measures for our neighborhood — such as installing speed bumps, better signage, or increased police patrols. The community deserves to feel safe on our own street. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I’d appreciate any updates on what actions can be taken to prevent further incidents. Sincerely, Claudia Diaz-Smyth 104 Milton Ave Dorchester, MA 02124 Diazsclaudia@msn.com
