- Regarding Redlands Homeless Shelter project in West Roxbury. Message to Mayor Wu and her cabinet meeting. Do the right thing, do not hide behind the State and let them do whatever they want without community input. There is a proper process and workflow and this should be done right. Yes help homeless families but this isn’t the right place or correct way. A one way street off a congested area is not safe for young children. There are only 4 showers for 1 92 people!! This project needs to be fully vetted before issuing permits. Project and permits and zoning laws must be followed accordingly. It should be consistent throughout the City. You know this is wrong what is happening. This is not helping the homeless families you say you wish to help. It has to be thoughtfully planned out, not “ sneaked in” and truly utilized the way the building structure can handle the proposal. 192 people is too many for that building structure.
