- I am writing to report a serious safety concern regarding a newly installed stop sign on Lake Street at the intersection with Glenmont Road. This stop sign has effectively transformed the intersection into an all-way stop, which is a positive step toward improving traffic control in the area. However, the new stop sign is not visible enough and many drivers fail to notice it in time, if at all. As a result, vehicles often approach the intersection coming down from Lake St at sustained speeds without slowing down or stopping, creating very hazardous conditions for other road users, including pedestrians and cross traffic from Glenmont Road. I recommend the installation of a larger and/or light-enhanced stop sign and advance signage.
