- This crosswalk sign was mowed down by an MBTA bus driver last Wednesday evening around 9:00 p.m. on the corner of Faneuil and Brooks Streets in the Oak Square section of Brighton. Several of us watched the bus driver--who we cant help but suspect may have been impaired--drive right over the curb--probably a good thing there were no pedestrians! Anyhoosles, here we are almost a week later and it's still just laying on the ground. What makes this so much more offensive to our community is that this intersection is one of the most dangerous in the city for pedestrians because traffic just flies through the crosswalk without any regard. Every week we count near-misses with pedestrians and vehicle accidents. The city refuses to put a flashing yellow/red signal here. I guess we'll have to keep pestering Liz Breaden until she can get something meaningful done.
