- Description
- This is not so much a pothole as it is a major dip in a relatively high speed section of road, that is so severe it could warp the chassis of your vehicle or crack your windshield due to the force of impact if you drive over it faster than 10 miles per hour. It's sort of like hitting a wall on the other side of a crater after your car falls into the crater. The pavement on the surface is in good condition, nice and smooth; the problem is that the entire road-bed is not level but dips down into a hollow, and then smashes your car when you hit the other side. You have to be a local to know to drive like a snail over this spot or risk severe damage to your vehicle, meanwhile the road is built like it is a high speed road, so it is very misleading to people who don't drive on this forsaken stretch of road regularly. This wide section of problematic road has existed for at least 40 years, so I think it's overdue to be repaired. It is the double lane, inbound to Cambridge, (east bound) lane of Cambridge St., located in Allston, at the intersection of Windom St.,
