- AGAIN, the parking lot at East Boston Memorial Park is being used, NOT by visitors of the park, but by airport employees and Blue Line commuters. The East Boston Memorial Park parking lot has been turned into free parking for airport employees and Blue Line commuters (hardly, the parking lots intended purpose). At 9:30 AM, this morning, there are 25 cars parked in the East Boston Memorial Park parking area, and not a soul in the park, fields, or stadium. Some of these cars were parked, again, overnight (the park is supposed to be closed from sunset to sunrise). The City of Boston signage, all over this parking area, says “Two Hour Parking.” It seems that there is some enforcement by BTD on weekdays, but, none over the weekend. Yesterday, Saturday, there were more than 20 of the same cars, parked in the East Boston Memorial Park, all day, and not one ticket/no parking enforcement. These conditions are not going to get better, until BTD and BPD start enforcing the parking regulations/signage, daily, including weekends.
