- Description
- I am writing to request assistance with a recurring parking issue at my residence. Vehicles frequently park extremely close to, and at times partially within, my driveway curb cut, compromising access and visibility. A photo of this morning's violation is attached for your reference. According to the City of Boston Traffic Rules and Regulations (Rule 7, Article IV), parking is prohibited ‘in front of any driveway, including two (2’) feet in either direction from the driveway,’ meaning vehicles may not park within two feet of the driveway curb cut. Because vehicles routinely park within this restricted clearance area, I am requesting: An assessment of whether curb markings (such as painted no-parking zones extending two feet on either side of the driveway) could be installed to clearly indicate the required clearance and reduce repeated violations. I believe curb markings would significantly improve compliance and reduce the need for enforcement calls.
