Description: Hi, I went on the boston.gov/parking website today, to pay for a ticket I was issued. I followed all the steps to pay the ticket using my credit card. Upon looking at the receipt, I was charged $1.65 in a service fee. Yet while going through the steps to make the payment online, on each and every webpage, there was NO NOTICE of a potential service fee being charged to me. Not one time was this written, or stated. That is illegal. Per M.G.L. c. 140D, § 28A. Per this law, you MUST notify the payer BEFORE payment is being made, of the potential for the service fee. No where is that notice provided on your website, nor on the parking ticket.
