Description
I know Boston (and most big cities) is known for its rodent problem since the beginning of time. But we dined last night at Granary Tavern at 170 Milk Street. We were seated just inside the door by the window at a table with 4 loose chairs. I was facing the built in banquette seating. Towards the end of my meal I noticed something scurry across the floor and tried to brush it off until I saw a second one. I started watching the corner of the banquette and sure enough a 4th mouse came scurrying out and leapt from an opening below the cushion to the floor. We alerted the waitress who simply said "Thanks for letting us know," and walked away. When we then saw another few rodents leaping from the seat, and then trying to jump back up beneath it, we alerted the hostess who may have been the manager. She took our side of veggies and dessert off of our bill. Now that I'm home and slept on it. We should not have been charged a thing. There was no sense of urgency or disgust. It's like they know this is going on. I can see a mouse or two on a cold night, but when you have half a dozen rodents in plain sight with a fair number of people in the restaurant - that is a BIG problem. I would never ever eat here again. Such a shame since it's in a popular area and my dinner guest used to work in the area and said lots of local office workers eat lunch here.
