- Nature of Complaint: Failure of property management to timely clear snow and ice from parking garage and access areas, preventing tenants from exiting the property. Description of Conditions: Following a recent snow event, property management failed to clear snow and ice from the apartment building’s parking garage and/or garage exit areas. As a result, vehicles were unable to safely exit the garage despite public roads in the surrounding area having been cleared for several hours. Impact: These conditions prevented tenants from accessing public roadways and rendered the garage unusable for a prolonged period. I am a healthcare worker and was unable to leave the property to report to a scheduled shift due to the lack of snow and ice removal. Notice and Responsibility: Property management is responsible for maintaining safe and passable conditions within the garage and access areas. The failure to clear snow and ice occurred well after municipal snow removal had been completed on adjacent public streets. Ongoing / Recurrent Issue (if applicable): This reflects inadequate snow removal practices by property management and raises concerns about future access and safety during winter weather events.
