- Meridian Street in East Boston had a parking ban for the snow emergency. The plows have not cleared the street close enough to the sidewalk to allow for parking on this street again, taking away dozens of resident spots. Because of this, I can't take my car to work in Waltham this week for fear of not having anywhere to park it when I get home since it is already difficult to find a parking spot after 5:00 PM on a normal day, let alone after the storm when people take spots others have dug out. Because the city hasn't cleared all the snow for residents and I can't move my car because there will be nowhere to re-park it, I am now having to pay for an Uber roundtrip to Waltham to go to work, which is ridiculous. Can you please have this snow removed from Meridian Street and other applicable streets in East Boston? I attached a photo. That white line is the BIKE LANE. So you can clearly see here that snow is covering the bike lane, the area between the bike lane and the sidewalk (where people normally park their cars), and then the blue recycling bin is where the sidewalk actually starts. There should not be snow between the recycling bin and the white line. The whole block is like this in front of my house, and on other parts of Meridian Street. I understand people are working hard to get the city back on track, but how can we remove a parking ban if you can't put the cars back where they should be parked and there is a shortage of parking? Thank you!
