Description: Near the BU Bridge exit onto Commonwealth Ave, on the western sidewalk, there is a point where the torso-height green railing transitions into a much taller black fence. At this point, the sidewalk overlooks the Mass Pike. Right now, the entire sidewalk on the Boston side of the bridge is not cleared. People walking must trudge atop the snowbank, which puts a person of average height at hip-to-knee-level with the top of the green railing. At the point where the green railing transitions into the black fence, the snowbank is tall enough for a pedestrian to be almost completely exposed to falling over the green railing and onto the Mass Pike below. I cannot stress how dangerous this situation is, especially in the slippery snow. |
