- Ice melt in the alley between Pembroke & West Brookline Streets. At first I thought it was sand which I have my snow shovelers sprinkle with PET FRIENDLY ice melt as I have a 10 year old and two 2 year old rescue puppies. In addition Trucked Up Pup at 83 Pembroke walk their four legged clients up Pembroke through the alley onto West Brookline. Unfortunately it is ice melt not sand! It is impossible to get boots on the puppies, when I tried, they wouldn't walk, my 10 year old, I have to pick up and carry. Throughout the storm the only place to walk was my alley, now we can't walk there either. With so many people with pets living in the South End it would be amazing if the City of Boston was more understanding and cooperative to at the least sprinkle sand as my shovel people do with my FIVE properties, front and rear!
