To whom it may concern, I am writing to respectfully request reimbursement for my parking fee at the Boston Common garage during the most recent snowstorm (1/25/26 7:30 am- 1/27/26 at 9:15am) based on unclear parking instructions, as well as to express my concerns about the snow emergency and subsequent parking ban being lifted prematurely by the City. At the time the snow emergency was lifted by the City (8pm on 1/26/26), the streets in my neighborhood of Beacon Hill were entirely covered in snow. Not only this, but my neighbors and I witnessed a snow plow get stuck for over two hours, bumping a car parked on the corner of Myrtle and Garden street at 10pm, requiring a front loader to get it out of the snow. In consideration of these unsafe road conditions, I decided to prioritize safety and leave my vehicle in the Boston Common garage overnight (1/26/26) and retrieve it the next morning for work. Due to the misleading and inconsistent wording of the City’s instructions, I was under the impression the regular rate for parking at the Boston Common garage would be imposed once the snow emergency had been lifted.
