Description: Train idling noise. The trains in the repair yard are just idling, producing a deep humming vibration that makes it very hard to sleep. Long time residents said this wasn't an issue when menino was alive, but now they just run them when it gets cold rather than use newer technologies to keep them warm. Or they are choosing to repair when people are trying to sleep. I live on the city and have no problem with the Amtrak or trains coming through. I've lived down town with street noise too.
