- Description
- I am a resident of Charlestown. I am writing to formally report the extremely poor snow removal conditions on our street and surrounding sidewalks following the recent storm. I have attached two photos showing the large snow piles left behind by snowplows after the storm the other weekend. We live at the beginning of Cook Street in Charlestown, and the snowplows pushed the majority of the snow directly in front of our home, completely blocking our driveway. Since then, we have had to shovel repeatedly just to clear the snowbank enough to ensure we can safely get in and out of our parking space. Additionally, because there appears to be nowhere designated for snow storage, residents are piling snow onto sidewalks and into the street. This has made sidewalks impassable—especially for strollers—and has created unsafe conditions for pedestrians and drivers alike. I am requesting that a snowplow and crew be sent to remove the large snow pile in front of our home that was created by city plowing. I also strongly urge the city to schedule overnight crews to properly clear side roads as well as main roads. The current conditions are hazardous and unacceptable. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and a resolution as soon as possible.
