Description: Location: Corner of Stanbro St & Meadowview St, Hyde Park Address Affected: 63 Stanbro St, Hyde Park The ADA-accessible curb ramp at the corner of Stanbro Street and Meadowview Street has been completely plowed in and is inaccessible, which is an ADA compliance violation. In addition, a large snowbank was created directly in front of my home at 63 Stanbro Street, extending approximately three feet into the roadway and standing an estimated three to four feet high. This creates a serious public safety concern. I have a medically complex child, and in the event of an emergency, ambulances and fire apparatus must be able to pull directly up to my home for immediate access. The current conditions could significantly delay or prevent emergency response. The snow must be removed from the roadway in front of my residence or fully pushed to the end of the dead-end street. There were no vehicles present during plowing, and adequate space was available at the time. Councilor Peppin’s office has already forwarded this issue to Public Works as urgent. As of tonight, no corrective action has been taken. Immediate attention is required due to ADA and emergency access concerns.
