- The even (east-bound) side of Commonwealth Ave from near 1940-1950 all the way to the Evergreen Cemetery was never fully plowed after the first January snow storm, and remains only partially plowed after the more recent blizzard. Since January, cars have been parking directly in the right-hand travel lane for weeks now, reducing this part of east-bound Comm Ave to a de facto one lane highway. This creates especially hazardous traffic conditions for cars, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. (These hazards are compounded by the constant double-parking in the area, and the fact that car drivers speed with impunity all the time on this stretch -- this part of Comm Ave is due for a road diet to slow these cars down, and needs a dedicated bike lane too, but that's another story...) Pedestrian and commuter access to the Green Line stop and crosswalks at South Street is particularly difficult in these conditions. And, I also worry for the safety of the people who use the handicap spaces on this stretch, who have been forced to park in the middle of an active traffic lane. Please ticket and tow the cars currently parked in the travel lane (as should have been done weeks ago), and use the resulting empty space to plow to the curb. The odd (west-bound) side was fully plowed to the curb weeks ago using this exact process, why not the same on the even (east-bound) side?
