Description: I am requesting an inspection of the address 5 Annapolis street, apartment 2. The building is a landlord owned three family home. The second floor unit appears to be rented per room (approximately $1,000 per room as I have been told by one of the tenants) to unrelated individuals. There appear to be five unrelated adults living in what is a three-bedroom apartment with one bathroom and one kitchen. The living room may have been converted into a sleeping area. I am concerned this may be operating as an unlicensed lodging or rooming house and may not comply with Boston occupancy, building, and fire safety codes. In addition, there have been ongoing excessive noise disturbances. The Boston Police Department has responded to the apartment at least twice due to roommates fighting and threatening one another. This raises additional safety concerns. I respectfully request that Inspectional Services conduct an inspection to determine compliance with occupancy, licensing, and safety regulations. I would prefer to remain anonymous if possible.
