Description: Despite dedicating hours to meeting with BCYF and the city, the Flaherty Dolphin team will soon be without a coach or a clear plan for how to keep this incredible public swim program together. BCYF Flaherty has been one of the most utilized and successfully run pools in the city under Louis’ management for more than 20 years. The competitive swim program he helped build has served families and swimmers for decades. We are urging the city to: * Reconsider Louis’ transfer * Work with families to create a sustainable future for the team * Create a dedicated budget for competitive swim programs The goal is to ensure the model built at Flaherty over the last three decades doesn’t disappear next month, but instead becomes something that can be expanded citywide.
