- Hi, We went to the North End on Sunday (3/8/26) for dinner. The streets are a mess with trash in the gutters and the sidewalks not much better. I live in Brighton and have the great benefit of street cleaning weekly once spring comes. I didn’t notice that The North End has street cleaning sign notices and this concerns me. I was glad to not have brought out of town visitors on Sunday because this part of town looked embarrassingly dirty. I realize it’s the end of winter and we’ve had a particularly brutal one but the North End looked terrible. Does the North End have the benefit of the street cleaning vehicles? If not the city should hire sweep cleaners like they have in Europe to keep especially this Boston magnet pristine for everyone.
