Description
This sign was broken/damaged last fall. I reported it then, and nothing was done. I reported it again earlier this year, well after the snowstorm. Nothing has been done. Where it was ripped out of the sidewalk in front of 160 Bennington St, there remains jutting, sharp metal sticking up. My husband tripped over that metal stub recently. The sign itself remains on the sidewalk, getting moved back and forth between 160 and 164 Bennington, but it has never been removed or repaired. Both the broken signpost and the metal stub embedded in the sidewalk are hazards. I am now reporting this for the third time. I don’t think I bothered to put my contact info the first time, since I assumed it would be handled quickly. But I did have my contact info on this year’s ticket. I will also be contacting my city councilor’s office. I hate to bug her, since she is several months pregnant, but frankly, I don’t know how else to get the city to remove the signpost and cut down the jagged metal sticking up out of the sidewalk so it’s at least flush with the sidewalk and no longer a tripping hazard. When I have reported hazardous damage to traffic signs in the past, they’ve been handled quickly. I’m not sure why this one hasn’t been addressed.
