- Description
- Dear Boston 311, I’m writing to request the installation of a “Blind Driveway” or "Hidden Driveway" warning sign near the entrance of my driveway on Adams Street, directly across the street from Hemenway Playground (540 Adams St, Boston, MA 02122). My driveway connects to a two-way street where folks park on both sides of the curb cut, which significantly limits visibility when entering and exiting. Parked vehicles often block the line of sight, making it difficult to see approaching traffic. Likewise, drivers traveling along the street may not notice a vehicle pulling out of the driveway until the last moment. There is currently a light pole located near the driveway curb that holds a large "Playground" sign. Since the playground is clearly visible from the street, that sign does not provide any value. This pole could instead be used to install a "Slow Down Blind Driveway / Hidden Driveway" warning sign to alert passing drivers. Given the limited visibility and the proximity to the playground, adding a Blind Driveway warning sign would greatly improve safety for drivers and pedestrians in the area. I've attached a few photos. Please let me know if any additional information would be helpful for reviewing this request. Thank you for your time and assistance. Best, Ed, 617-858-0794

Duplicate of Existing Case. Hello, This is a duplicate request. BTD will install a "Blind Driveway" sign in front of #517-519 so drivers can have advanced warning and time to react. Thank you for contacting 311 and BTD.
