- Description
- A section of sidewalk in front of 9, 11 and 13 Woodward Street was removed weeks ago and has not been repaired. Up until a couple days ago, a traffic cone was placed in the section of sidewalk that was removed. Before the sidewalk was removed, I fell and injured my ankle. The section of sidewalk that was removed was not marked and was not obvious. Additionally, the roadway on Woodward Street is in a dilapidated condition. Several contractors have dug up the roadway and sidewalks and have failed to safely and adequately repair the roadway and sidewalks. Work has created a chain effect of issues in other areas of the road and sidewalk. There are several areas of Woodward Street that are not ADA compliant. Children, seniors and people with disabilities cannot safely walk the sidewalks and in some instances, find themselves having to walk into the roadway, which is also in disrepair. Between 9 Woodward and the rear of 510 Dorchester Ave, there is a hole in the walkway which appears to have been a utility pipe. It poses a significant tripping hazard because the hole is not filled or covered. There are several large cracks, breaks, potholes and unstable roadway which raises concerns of sink holes developing. Please fix our road and sidewalk! Our road has been neglected and poorly patched up by contractors for many years.
