Description: I am writing as an abutter to a restaurant located next to my residence to raise concerns about recent construction activity on their property. Their address is 336 Sumner Ave in East Boston. The business has installed what appears to be a permanent metal roof structure over their outdoor seating area. To my knowledge, I did not receive any abutter notification related to this work, which raises concerns that the project may have been completed without the appropriate permits or zoning approvals. Given the nature of the structure, I am particularly concerned about potential safety issues, including whether it has been properly reviewed for structural integrity, snow load, and drainage -especially due to its proximity to my home. Additionally, a fence was previously installed on the property on a weekend without any apparent permitting or notification. There appears to be a pattern of work being completed without proper oversight, and I would appreciate it if your office could confirm: Whether permits were issued for the roof structure and fence Whether inspections have been conducted Whether the project complies with applicable zoning and building codes
