- I am requesting an immediate fire safety inspection of the church located across from my residence due to ongoing and repeated safety concerns. On multiple occasions, large gatherings at this location appear to exceed what would reasonably be considered safe occupancy for the building. During these events, there are consistently numerous vehicles overcrowding the lot and surrounding street, including instances of double parking and blocked access points. This raises serious concerns about whether emergency vehicles would be able to access the property in the event of a fire or medical emergency. Additionally, large groups of individuals congregate outside the building, often standing closely together and smoking directly near the entrance. This creates both a potential fire hazard and obstructs entry/exit pathways, which could delay evacuation if needed. Last weekend, there was also a loud verbal altercation outside the property during one of these gatherings, which further highlights the lack of control and oversight during these events and raises additional safety concerns for the neighborhood. Given the size of the building and the volume of people regularly present, I am concerned that: - The posted occupancy limit may be exceeded - Fire lanes and access points may not be properly maintained - Entry and exit routes may be obstructed - General fire code compliance may not be being followed This situation is ongoing and poses a legitimate public safety concern for both attendees and neighboring residents. I am requesting that the Fire Marshal or appropriate authority conduct a formal inspection of the property, verify occupancy limits, and ensure all fire safety regulations are being followed.
