- Mattress was left out for scheduled pickup on 5/5, I contacted 311 that evening when it hadn’t been picked up and was told to wait. I went out of town, and when I came back late last night, saw that it still hadn’t been picked up, and there was a fine on my porch this morning. I will not be paying it, since the city failed to do its job or notify me that it had not done its job, and the city will correct its mistake by picking up the mattress asap

Case Noted. If your mattress was not collected on your scheduled date, call 311. Missed pick-ups must be reported within 24-hours of your scheduled date, or you will have to reschedule your pick-up. 311 cannot flag missed mattresses while collections are still ongoing (before 5pm on the scheduled pickup date) and 311 is unable to flag a missed pickup 5 days after the scheduled pickup.
