- I live at 324 Shawmut Ave in the south end. Over the past year or so, rat activity in our back yard has increased dramatically. While we have an active pest control company, our neighboring property (324 shawmut) has visible burrows that we can not treat from our back yard. The activity in the neighboring yard is quite intense, I see rats almost every time I go outside at night. My suspicion is that they have visible burrows that are not being treated and they keep trash on their back deck (I have also seen racoons go up there before). I have also seen rats enter their building through a hole in a basement window. There may also be issues on the entire block or our other neighbor but its hard to tell.
