- Description
- My husband is 77 years old and walks with the aid of a walker. The city tree in front of our house has grown to a point where it has broken the sidewalk and raised the slabs on all side by several inches. It is also making the curb pull away from the sidewalk. It is a very dangerous situation for him and for other mobility challenged individuals and/or parents with children in strollers. They, including my husband, must walk out on the street in order to avoid the serious tripping hazard. The sidewalk has been patched over several times yet the tree roots continue to expand and raise the sidewalk. It is also impossible to shovel snow off of the area of raised and patched sidewalk so ice forms making it even more dangerous. Furthermore, the tree continually drops burrs or some sort of sizable round sticky things all over the sidewalk making it further difficult to walk. We would like to have the tree removed and sidewalk repaired so my husband and others have the ability to walk down the street without danger of falling.
