- The infra noise at North Station (commuter rail) is really disruptive to nearby residents. It sounds like trains are idling at all hours of the day and evening. Massachusetts state regulation prohibits unnecessary diesel locomotive idling for more than 30 minutes. I’m requesting MBTA be contacted to enforce this and reduce idling at this location, as well as assess noise levels at this location. The idling is loud enough to disrupt sleep and work inside my apartment with windows closed
