- I am requesting the installation of white lane divider markings on Cummins Highway between Hyde Park Avenue and Rowe Street to improve traffic safety and organization. Currently, the width of the roadway naturally encourages traffic to split into two lanes in each direction; however, the lack of pavement markings creates significant confusion, leading to erratic merging and an increased risk of side-swipe collisions. Formalizing these lanes with clear white striping would significantly improve traffic flow, provide necessary predictability for drivers in all weather conditions, and reduce the current safety hazards caused by ambiguous lane positioning.
