- A bicycle commuter reports an ongoing safety hazard on Arlington Street. During a previous major snowstorm, the protective flex-post barriers separating the dedicated bike lane from vehicular traffic were swept away/destroyed. In the absence of these barriers, motorists are routinely driving into the bike lane to cut traffic queues and execute short-cut left turns. This behavior forces cyclists to swerve into active travel lanes to avoid collisions. Requesting BTD to reinstall the protective bike lane barriers immediately to restore cyclist safety on this heavily used medical commuter route. |
