Description
Fortunately, Monday to Friday, but NOT ON WEEKENDS (WEEKEND PATROLS BY BTD ARE NEEDED)), the Boston Transportation Department has increased their presence in East Boston Stadium Park (Thompson Drive, from Orleans and Porter Street to East Boston Memorial Stadium) and their ticketing of cars that are driven by Blue Line/T-commuters, airport employees, and airport passengers who are dodging airport parking fees. The Boston Transportation Department's enforcement is noticeably absent on weekends. See the attached pictures to see what the street/parking area (2 Hour Parking limit/signage) looks like at 10 AM, each weekday morning. Yes, things are better, thanks to BTD, but, there is more work to be done, to prevent East Boston Stadium Park from being turned into a Blue Line/T and airport employee parking lot. And, there is significant revenue for BTD to generate for the city, in one quick, easy sweep of East Boston Memorial Park, every few hours. The patrols by BTD are ESSENTIAL to ward off the Blue Line/T commuters, airport employees, and Logan airport passengers, who have turned the 2 hour parking, parking lot, into their free, commuter parking.
