Description: Tenant health and safety complaint. Moved into an East Boston apartment (171 Lexington St, Unit A, East Boston, MA 02128) on 9/1/2026 with a severe, active cockroach infestation. Previous tenants had left rotting food, a filthy fridge interior, and furniture (beds, bed frames, chairs, stools, dirty plungers/toilet brushes) still in the unit. Exterminators found hundreds of roaches behind the fridge and cabinets, and stated the kitchen was too unsanitary for the traps to work effectively. The initial treatment on 9/2 was compromised as a result, and roach activity is still ongoing. EDGE has since resolved other structural issues (trash, fire alarms, windows, blinds) following repeated complaints, but the overgrown backyard remains untreated and continues to serve as a pest harborage near the unit. Requesting a housing code inspection focused on the unresolved infestation. Please contact me to confirm an inspection date.
