My name is Elena Matusovsky, and I am writing on behalf of my mother, Galina Matusovskaya, who is 85 years old and suffers from mild dementia. She lives at 41 Peterborough Street, Apt. 31, Boston, MA. I live in New Jersey and frequently travel to help her. There is an ongoing mouse infestation in her apartment. Building management has sent pest control twice at my request, but each visit lasts approximately 15 minutes and has not resolved the problem. No one has properly investigated or sealed the holes and entry points through which the mice may be entering. Management and pest control appear to be fulfilling their responsibilities only formally, without taking effective action to eliminate the infestation. The mice remain in the apartment, and the problem may affect other areas of the building as well. This situation is seriously affecting my elderly mother's mental and emotional well-being. Because of her age and dementia, the presence of mice causes her significant anxiety and distress. I am also concerned about the large number of rats now running along Peterborough Street. This has become a noticeable problem that, in my experience, was not present to this extent in the past. I respectfully request an official inspection of my mother's apartment and, if appropriate, the building, as well as an investigation into the rat problem on Peterborough Street. Please help ensure that the source of the infestation is identified and that effective corrective measures are taken, rather than relying on brief, routine pest-control visits.
