Description
The Anchor in the navy yard across from our apartment building leaves hundreds of pumpkins outdoors for a month, allowing them to rot before disposal. Since this display began, rodent activity in and around our building has become significantly worse. The decaying pumpkins create a substantial, long-term food source that attracts rats and mice, threatening nearby residents’ health, safety, and quality of life. This issue has also imposed significant financial costs on individual residents and our building, including pest-control services, preventative measures, repairs, and ongoing management of the rodent problem. This irresponsible practice should be banned in city parks. Please remove the pumpkins, inspect the area, and prohibit future displays that leave large quantities of organic waste outdoors.
